|
Dakar, 14-16 November, 2005
The objective of the workshop was to examine the role of food, water and biomass in rural development in a context of global climate change. Analyses were made of integrated rural development and climate strategies with a view to guiding decision-making. More specifically, participants at the Dakar workshop were to deepen discussions on the following questions:
The Dakar workshop was attended by some fifty international experts, consultants, researchers, university professors, decision-makers and private actors from countries in Africa, Asia, North and South America and Europe. A number of international, regional and sub-regional development bodies were also represented, as were public and private institutions, civil society organisations, financial institutions, training centres, and development support bodies.
